{"id":21408,"date":"2024-01-15T02:35:40","date_gmt":"2024-01-15T02:35:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/about\/?page_id=21408"},"modified":"2026-09-15T16:41:26","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T08:41:26","slug":"current-elections","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/about\/governance\/secretariat\/elections\/current-elections\/","title":{"rendered":"Current elections"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">UniSuper Consultative Committee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Notice of election<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Election of an academic staff member to the UniSuper Consultative Committee<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>T<\/strong><strong>erm of office: Commencing upon election for four (4) years<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the call for nominations for the election of a representative from ºìÌÒÊÓƵ to the UniSuper Consultative Committee, two (2) valid nominations had been received when nominations closed on Monday, 14 September 2026. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An election will therefore be conducted to determine which candidate will be elected as the Academic Staff Representative to the UniSuper Consultative Committee for a term of office of four (4) years commencing upon completion of the election. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The candidates are listed below in alphabetical order:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ricky LAREU<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dale PINTO<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Voting instructions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The election will be conducted using ºìÌÒÊÓƵ\u2019s electronic voting system, \u2018<strong>Simply Voting<\/strong>\u2019. On the day that voting opens, you will receive a generated email from Simply Voting that contains your Elector ID and a randomly generated password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that the generated email from Simply Voting may be sent to your junk or clutter mail folder. Please check your junk mail if you cannot find the email.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/curtin.simplyvoting.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click here to access the Simply Voting website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you have entered your Elector ID and your randomly generated password, you may vote in the election.\u00a0 The list of candidates will appear in a random order.\u00a0 If the candidate has provided a statement supporting their case for election or a photograph, you may click on their name to view the statement and\/or photograph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In this election:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Voting will begin at <strong>9:00 am on Friday, 18 September 2026 <\/strong>and close at <strong>5:00 pm on Thursday, 1 October 2026.<\/strong>\u00a0Please note that Simply Voting will not accept votes outside of these times.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must vote for at least one (1) candidate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the check box beside your candidate of preference.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simply Voting will invite you to check your ballot choice before you submit your vote.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the vote is confirmed, it may not be recalled and you will not be able to vote again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The candidate who receives the highest number of votes will be declared elected as the Academic Staff Representative to the UniSuper Consultative Committee.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Counting of votes and announcement of the election result<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Votes will be counted as soon as practicable after the voting period ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The result of the election will be declared by the Returning Officer on <strong>Monday,\u00a05 October 2026 <\/strong>and all candidates will be notified of the election result in writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
