Entry requirements

Specifically, applicants require a bachelor's or master's degree in a related discipline, such as social sciences, health science or education from a recognised tertiary institution.

Applicants without an undergraduate degree will require a minimum of a certificate III or IV qualification in a relevant area plus 5 years of previous experience working in providing disability services, in a job role involving the self-directed application of knowledge planning and implementation, with substantial depth in the specialised area of practice.

Things to know before you apply

This course is only available part-time. You may study either 1 or 2 units per semester. Example study plans, with recommended sequences of units are available in
The course is only available online. Some content will be online/self-guided, with embedded recorded lectures. There will also be online 鈥榣ive鈥� teaching sessions, delivered via our learning system, Blackboard. Each unit will have a slightly different balance of online and live content.
To meet the needs of students on both sides of Australia, 鈥榣ive鈥� online sessions will typically be offered late afternoon in Perth, which will be evenings on the East Coast of Australia.
This course is not offered to international students as it is designed to address issues within the Australian service context.

Applications for intakes in the next year of study will be assessed (on a merit basis) in December of each year. You will be notified whether your application has been successful late in the calendar year, if your application was received prior to December.
