Course structure
Customise your Bachelor of Arts
At Curtin, you can study disciplines of your choice and gain an Arts degree that is customised to your career interests and your passions.
You can choose to study a single major or a double major. A single major provides more flexibility in your degree structure, while a double major offers you the benefits of studying two complementary disciplines in equal amounts.
This degree comprises 600 credits worth of units. You'll study 300 credits in the major of your choice (step 1) and 300 credits through one of the four options (step 2).

Step 2: Complete your degree structure
This step usually happens after you accept Curtin’s offer for your chosen major. Each of the options outlined below are subject to availability.
Option 1: Add a second major
With this option you benefit from studying two disciplines in equal depth and graduate with a double major. Choose a second Arts major or one of the Creative Arts or Commerce majors below:

Option 2: Choose two specialisations¹
Choose two specialisations from any study area to complement your majorÌý– for example, Chinese, Marketing, Human Rights, Journalism or Web Media.
Option 3: Choose one specialisation and four electives¹
Choose a second specialisation to gain expertise in another field. Then, choose four elective units in which you meet the unit prerequisites.
Option 4: Choose eight electives
You may choose eight elective units in any field in which you meet the unit prerequisites.

Curtin Global Future Leaders Scholarship
Curtin Global Future Leader Scholarship provides eligible students a one-off credit of AUD$12,500 against the tuition fee of the course they are undertaking.
Curtin English Scholarship
When you complete a Curtin English course as a pathway into a ºìÌÒÊÓƵ degree course, you will receive a one-off credit of up to AUD$7,496 towards your tuition fees.
