Option A: a second major

With this option you will benefit from studying two disciplines in equal depth and graduating with a double major. You can choose a second business major from the list in Step 1, or a major from the list of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Creative Arts majors below.

Option B: two specialisations

A specialisation contains half the number of units as a major, allowing you to broaden your skillset by studying two complementary disciplines alongside your business major.

Note: Option B is not available if Business Information Systems Extension is your first major. If you choose Accounting, or Property Development and Valuation Extension as your first major, you can study one specialisation only.

Option C: elective units

Choose eight elective units from any study area in which you meet the unit prerequisites, or choose one business specialisation and four elective units.

±·´Ç³Ù±ð:ÌýChoices are limited if your first major is Accounting, Business Information Systems Extension, or Property Development and Valuation Extension. (These majors may have elective units within the structure that could be used to gain a specialisation.)

In your final year, you will also undertake a capstone experience to further your practical skills and international business knowledge.ÌýThis course includes theÌýEnhancing Your Business Mind capstone unit that provides a real-world experience to ‘cap off' your studies:

Enhancing Your Business Mind: Your first professional role after graduating is a key career step that you’ll want to take with confidence. In this capstone experience, you’ll apply your entrepreneurial skills, business ideas and critical thinking to a real workplace, improving your employability and equipping you with skills to succeed after university. You’ll have the chance to challenge yourself in a supportive environment, and discover new aspects about industry and yourself.

Alternatively, you may be able to study units included below that also provide experiential opportunities:

Business Clinic: This is your chance to become a real-world business consultant, working with individuals, small organisations and startups to solve challenges and optimise opportunities. Through hands-on experience in the clinic, you will develop your understanding of key business concepts, problem-solving techniques and ethical decision-making. You’ll gain valuable insights into the modern business world and the confidence to navigate its complexities.

Business Engagement: Apply business skills and knowledge to real industry challenges through classroom learning, cultural visits, and internship projects. Analyse contemporary business issues using industry and academic insights, developing critical and creative solutions. This transformative experience will broaden your global perspective, build your professional network, and prepare you for a dynamic international career.

Business Internship:¹ÌýYou’ve understood the theory, read the academic papers and pored through the textbooks – now it’s time to apply what you’ve learned to real business situations through a professional internship. Guided by an academic advisor and an industry professional, you’ll be immersed in the day-to-day operations of your host organisation. This capstone experience is a chance to develop your business skills, enhance your career readiness, build your professional network, and nurture your personal and professional growth.

Business and Law International Experience:²ÌýThis capstone experience enables you to benefit from Curtin's status as a global university with campuses and connections around the world. You can progress your studies while travelling by studying a short course with one of our global exchange partners. You’ll immerse yourself in a different culture, expand your knowledge and build your global perspective, and gain a unique life experience.

Business Study Tour or International Business Project: Keen for an adventure? In this capstone experience, you’ll apply your learnings to real-world global settings. Through site visits, guest lectures and team projects, you'll connect with industry leaders, gain fresh perspectives and tackle real business challenges – all with the guidance of our academic staff. Local or international, every tour blends cultural activities with practical learning that will build your leadership and problem-solving skills and global industry knowledge.
