Notice of Election

Election of the Deputy Chair of the Academic Board

Term of office: 1 April 2026 and concluding 31 March 2028

Four (4) valid nominations were received for the position of Deputy Chair of the Academic Board by the close of nominations at 5:00pm on Wednesday 22 July 2026.

An election will therefore be held to fill the position for the balance of the term of office from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028.

The candidates are listed below in alphabetical order:

Voting instructions

The election will be conducted using 红桃视频鈥檚 electronic voting system 鈥Simply Voting鈥. On the day that voting opens, you will receive an email from Simply Voting which contains your Elector ID and a randomly generated password.

Please note, the generated email from Simply Voting may be sent to your junk or clutter mail folder. Please ensure that you check your junk mail if you cannot find the email. .

Once you have entered your Elector ID and your randomly generated password, you may vote in the election.  The list of candidates will appear in a random order.  If the candidate has provided a statement supporting their case for election or a photograph, you may click on their name to view the statement and/or photograph.

In this election:

  1. Voting will begin at 9:00 am on Thursday 30 July 2026 and close at 5:00 pm on Thursday 13 August 2026. Please note that Simply Voting will not accept votes outside of these times.
  2. You must vote for at least one (1) candidate.
  3. Place the numeral 鈥1鈥 in the box beside your candidate of first preference.
  4. You may choose to express a preference for some or all of the remaining candidates. Place the numerals 鈥2鈥, 鈥3鈥 and so on in numerical order in the box beside the candidate or candidates for whom you wish to express a second or any subsequent preference.
  5. Simply Voting will invite you to check your ballot choices before you submit your vote.
  6. Once the vote is confirmed it may not be recalled and you will not be able to vote again.
  7. The candidate who receives the highest number of votes following the distribution of preferences will be declared elected to the position of Deputy Chair of the Academic Board.

Counting of votes and announcement of election result

Votes will be counted as soon as practicable after the voting period ends.

The result of the election will be declared by the Returning Officer on Friday 14 August 2026 and all candidates will be notified of the election result in writing. The outcome of the election will be published on the Curtin Elections website.
